This kusaya (sundried fish) is made by first pickling fresh blue mackerel scad in a broth made with a recipe handed down from long ago. Grilled kusaya is made easy to eat by tearing fish cooked without seasoning into bite-sized pieces so that you can enjoy its true flavor.
The shop is located in a residential area heading to the sea from Niijima Airport. In addition to ordinary dried kusaya, they also have simply baked kusaya that can be easily broken into smaller bite sized pieces. This shop is popular because you can enjoy the traditional kusaya flavor passed down since old times.
