The freshest and tastiest vegetables in town!

Look at all those beautiful vegetables in this supermarket! I was blown away by how different they look from the standard inner city store. There really is something special about going to the Tokyo Yasai Store. I can't wait to cook the fresh and big Brokkoli or the package of twenty eggs. Not only will they taste better, you are even saving money! They also have such a big variety of products, you don't even know what to choose first. I can't wait to get back again!

An interesting tour on how Japanese Sake is made!

Have you ever asked yourself how all the different kind of sake are made? I went on a tour through the Sawanoi Ozawa Brewery. You are greeted by a big sign in front that has the logo of the brewery. Over the huge gate of entrance of the faculty is a shrine for luck, japanese tradition can be found at every corner! Inside you find massive containers that store the various ingredients before it is the final product. The tour guide did an amazing job explaining the multiple steps that the rice goes through before finally becoming the sake we all know and love! Even the water that is used comes from a special well that is right next to the faculty that we visited. It is always great to have a look behind the scenes. From there the sake is filled up to distribute it all over japan, even to Osaka! I never knew that there are so many steps involved to bring the delicious sake to life. I'm so glad I had this experience!

A perfect Sake for everybody's taste!

A perfect Sake for everybody's taste!

Near the brewery is a beautiful scenery that includes a river, bridge and red leafed trees. There you can find a place that offers a sake tasting of nine different flavors at a time! They have the classics but also different kinds that change with the season. It was such a delight to taste one after the other, each with a unique flavor and they even had a umeshu! It is so difficult to pick the best as try all have a special taste. Once you think you have picked your favorite, what better way to remember this experience than by taking a whole bottle back home, so you can enjoy it alone or show your friends what unique flavors there are!

Exclusive japanese cheese is hard to find!

My last stop was at fromage du japan, a japanese cheese shop. You are greeted by a big cow in front of the store. There you can find several different kinds of cheese that you will not find anywhere else in the world! It is locally produced and has that unique japanese flavor that works great on its own or with bread. Don't miss out on the chance to experience this special meal that you will never forget!
